Port Harcourt Residents threaten to Kick Out Budweiser

On Wednesday 29th January 2020, the hashtag #KickoutBudweiser trended on Twitter as famous Port Harcourt Entertainers called out the popular beer brand.

Social media users lament that Port Harcourt has been termed “Unsafe” to invest in by a Global Beer giant, Budweiser.

Budweiser (including Bud Light) is the biggest brand for Anheuser-Busch InBev. The global beer giant was created in 2008 when Belgium-based InBev purchased Anheuser-Busch. U.S. volume for Bud shrank for the 30th straight year, but the brand has made strides internationally under AB InBev’s watch. Budweiser was the most talked about brand on digital and social media during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, with an estimated five billion social media impressions. Anheuser-Busch unveiled an innovative marketing program in 2018 where all new sponsorship agreements in sports and music will include incentive-based pricing.

As to the claims by Port Harcourt citizens, it is still unconfirmed where and when this was made by @BudweiserNg team. No Limit Media is currently in contact with Budweiser Nigeria and will drop more information as soon as possible.
