It is official. Governor Douye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will rule Bayelsa state for the next four years, other things being equal. The effort of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to reclaim its victory in the November 16 gubernatorial election which was nullified by the Supreme Court failed, woefully. Recall that the apex had sacked the APC’s candidate, David Lyon, after finding his running mate, Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo, guilty of presenting false information regarding his certificates to INEC.
The Supreme Court of Nigeria has again affirmed the election of Senator Douye Diri of the PDP as the authentic governor of Bayelsa state.
This is in line with the review of its earlier judgment as requested by the APC.
